A Great Person
Anagarika Dharmapala was born in 1864. His birth name was Don David Hewavitharana. His father was Don Carolis and his mother was Mallika Hewavitharana. He was a Buddhist person. Dharmapala was also a pioneer of Sri Lanka's independence movement. He did many services.
These services include starting Buddhist Schools, beginning the Sinhala Buddhist Newspaper and establishing the Maha Bodhi Society...etc. Not only that taking action against the consumption of alcohol and beef is also remarkable. In the later part of his life, he became a Buddhist monk. That is Dharmapala Thero.
Dharmapala Thero did many national and religious services, that thero passed away in 1933. Anagarika Dharmapala worked hard for the religious and social progress of Sri Lanka. He was a valuable person for the country. Such noble individuals are forever immortal 🥰.
