  A Great Person        Anagarika Dharmapala was born in 1864. His birth name was Don David Hewavitharana. His father was Don Carolis and his mother was Mallika Hewavitharana. He was a Buddhist person. Dharmapala  was also a pioneer of Sri Lanka's independence movement. He did many services.   These services include starting Buddhist Schools, beginning the Sinhala Buddhist Newspaper and establishing the Maha Bodhi Society...etc. Not only that taking action against the consumption of alcohol and beef is also remarkable. In the later part of his life, he became a Buddhist monk. That is Dharmapala Thero.  Dharmapala Thero did many national and religious services, that thero passed away in 1933. Anagarika Dharmapala worked hard for the religious and social progress of Sri Lanka. He was a valuable person for the country. FOOD   I LIKE 😋  Food is a world 🌏 full of taste and goodness 🍽. Different people like different foods. I also like many types of food . I like Sri Lankan food the most 💓. Among them rice and curry is special. I like eating the rice and curry my mother makes at home the most 👩‍🍳 💗. The taste and aroma of that food are beyond indescribable 👌. A meal is truly complete  when it includes of fruit🤤.   The splendor of Vesak   🙏 On the occasion of  Vesak Poya Buddhists organize various programs. Meanwhile organizing Vesak Zones is very important. On the occasion of Vesak our village also set up a beautiful Vesak Zone. I went with my mother to see Vesak Zone 🥰.  When we come near the Vesak Zone the street was decorated with bright lights. From that the whole city was brightly lit. Colorful Vesak lanterns were set up on both sides of the street. They were made in different sizes and using various materials. They are very creative.                                                  A  big pandol was set up in the middle of the Vesak Zone. The pandol was filled with electric lights. National symbols of Sri Lanka. The Na Tree The Na tree was declared the national tree of Sri Lanka in 1986. It was selected as the national tree due to its high botanical and cultural value. Its scientific name is  'Mesua nagassarium / Mesua ferrea' .                                                           The Na tree which is native to Sri Lanka grows abundantly in tropical regions. This plant which grows up to about 100 feet tall has dark green leaves. Its young leaves are reddish in color while the flowers are white. It is a flower with a pleasant fragrance. The Na tree also has medicinal properties. It is a good medicine for illnesses such as stomachache, fever and constipation. A special day   💗 Everyone has special days in life. Among them a special day in my life is the day the paimpath was placed 🥰. A beginner dancer improves her dance skills and becomes an expert 💃. Once a Dancer becomes an expert she can be placed the paimpath. I too got the opportunity to have the paimpath placed 😊.  It was conducted by my teacher Mrs. Aththanayake of the Vihara Kalayathanaya. It has been two years since that special occasion. But I remember that day as it were today 🥰. The paimpath ceremony was held at the Udawalawe Buddhist Center. The paimpath ceremony was held in a traditional manner and very beautiful.  Many veteran dancers participated in this occasion. Also, professor. Mudiyanse Disanayake participated in the ceremony as the chief guest. I also had the opportunity to perform my dance skills before him 😊.  This once in a lifetime opportunity to have the paimpath placed became an unforgettable special day in my life 💓.     ...
